The much-awaited Cristiano Ronaldo’s second debut for Manchester United could be delayed as the reports of the Sun. Ronaldo might need to wait to start in the playing XI for the Red Devils due to quarantine protocols and lack of training.
The star striker was recently released by Portugal after he scored a brace against Ireland in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Ronaldo surpassed Ali Daei’s record of 109 goals and became the highest goal scorer in international football. However, he was booked for his celebration, and thus he won’t have been able to play against Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford is awaited by millions of fans. Ronaldo will be seen donning the iconic number seven jersey whereas Cavani will now play with no. 21 jersey. In fact, as expected Ronaldo’s seven number jersey was sold within four hours and smashed Manchester United sales record.
On the other hand, Ronaldo was signed for a record-breaking deal of £19.8 million by Manchester United from Juventus. In fact, earlier it was reported that Manchester City was interested in roping the Portugal captain.
Ronaldo has one of the most decorated CVs in Football history as he has scored 783 goals and has provided 226 assists in 1074 appearances. Thus, there is no doubt that Ronaldo will bring a lot of experience and class to Manchester United’s forward line and he will aim to give his best to the club.
Earlier, it was reported that Ronaldo could make his second debut for Manchester United against Newcastle United on Tuesday but he may need to wait for his chance. Ronaldo will join his teammates for training on Wednesday.
