It has been reported by Spanish Outlet, AS that Cristiano Ronaldo’s main intention behind returning to training is to inform Manchester United’s top brass about his decision to leave the club. As per the reports circling around, Ronaldo had earlier asked Manchester United to grant him leave as he wants to play in the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo didn’t take part in the preseason for Manchester United in Thailand and Australia, citing personal issues. However, when Ronaldo reached Manchester on Monday (25th July), a lot of speculations regarding his future at Old Trafford were made.
However, it has been reported that Ronaldo has come to Manchester to have a discussion with the club management regarding his future.
On the other hand, Ronaldo was Manchester United’s top performer in the previous season. The talisman had scored 24 goals in 38 matches across all competitions for the Red Devils. Ronaldo had joined Manchester United from Juventus and had returned to the club after 12 overs from his first stint.
In fact, Ronaldo also uploaded a photo of his workout session in Manchester United’s short, which stirred a roar on social media.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has revealed that Ronaldo is not for sale. Erik Ten Hag also recently said he is looking forward to working with the Portuguese.
“I am well informed, he also has an option (of another year),” said Ten Hag.
“Yes (he could stay beyond this season), but to be honest, of course, I have signed here for three years, but in football it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don’t look that far ahead,” he added.
Manchester United had a good run in the preseason winning three and drawing one match.
