Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba reckons the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo is going to help the team in raising the level. Ronaldo has all the experience under his belt and there is no doubt that he will add value to Manchester United’s forward line.
Ronaldo’s move to the Red Devils is one of the biggest signings of the summer as the Portuguese striker was roped in for a record deal of £19.8 million. Ronaldo had played for United before and he returns back as a legend of the game.
The French midfielder told Telefoot, via Get Football News France: ‘It’s always a pleasure to play with the best. ‘It’s also a plus for the players to be able to train with a great player. He’s going to raise the level of the team.’
Pogba had earlier heaped praise on Ronaldo while talking to Sky Sports and added that the star striker is going to bring his vast experience to the team.
He said: ‘Everybody knows [what Ronaldo brings]. He’s already a legend in this club and he’s coming back, so obviously it’s huge for us, for the club. ‘He’s going to bring his experience, his quality and obviously, when he comes the level [of the team] goes up.’
Meanwhile, Pogba has had a great start to the season as he has provided five assists in the first three matches and he will look to provide more assists to Ronaldo in the coming games.
On the other hand, Raphael Varane, who played with Ronaldo for Real Madrid, was also delighted after the striker re-signed with the club.
Ronaldo has one of the most decorated CVs in Football history as he has scored 783 goals and has provided 226 assists in 1074 appearances. Ronaldo will be seen donning the iconic number seven jersey for the Red Devils in the ongoing season.
