“Cristiano is the best player i ever played with,” Real Madrid star Luka Modric names Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest ever to play alongside him

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has great admiration for Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo and recently the Croatian had named him as the greatest player to play alongside him. Modric has had some exceptional teammates which include several superstars but he believes Ronaldo to be the best.

The duo played at Real Madrid for many years before Ronaldo decided to move on to Juventus. However the midfielder has stayed on at Madrid but his current contract expires at the end of the season.

In a recent interaction with former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, Modric was very instant to share Ronaldo’s name as the best player he has shared the dressing room with. “Cristiano is the best player I ever played with.”

He then described what according to him makes Ronaldo special, he highlighted his work ethic and the hunger that he has to achieve more, individually and also as a team. “Most special thing about Cristiano Ronaldo? His work ethic. He always wants more and more. He’s never happy with what he does. This is amazing. The demand he put on himself and the team was unbelievable,” he added.

The 37-year-old midfielder has always spoken highly of Ronaldo even after he had left Real Madrid. In a previous interaction at La Liga special Golazos edition, Modric mentioned Ronaldo as one of the greatest ever players to play for Real Madrid.

“I think everyone will agree that Cristiano was one of the best, if not the best player for Real Madrid. Everything that he did and achieved in Real Madrid in eight or nine years, how long he was here, was something out of this world,” Modric opined.

It is clear that Ronaldo had a deep impact on his teammates and Modric elaborates how he was inspired by Ronaldo’s leadership and hunger to score more goals, win more trophies, as if he had aura around him.

“In terms of scoring goals, titles, individual records, team trophies, he was so influential. He was a leader on and off the pitch. It was such a pleasure to play with him all these years and to win so many trophies together,” Modric continued.

Ronaldo currently plies his trade in Saudi Arabia where he plays for Al Nassr. He joined the Saudi Pro Legaue outfit soon after the World Cup in Qatar. Ronaldo has been in exceptional form and has been netting goals for fun.

However Al Nassr are open to adding more top players and they are closely monitoring Luka Modrid’c situation at Real Madrid. If things work out and Modric agrees to move to Saudi Arabia, we may see the great partnership once again.
