Varandas have been the club president since 2018, and the 40-year old has revealed via Instagram about his decision.

He explained,” for the generations of our parents and grandparents but most importantly, for this generation that cannot grow up in a country caught up in another chronic economic crisis. We do it for them all and the sake of Portugal at large.

“Some are taking care of the sick, others trying to make bread while some are passing information to the people of Portugal with the help of others, likewise working to keep the economy and country safe.”

I will continue to serve my country for as long as the state of emergency continues, and I will do so over again so far, my country still needs it. I urge everyone to work together and do it, remain safe until this period does away.”
