Leeds United defender, Liam Cooper, has described Fulham’s striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic as an incredible player ahead of Saturday’s meeting at the Craven Cottage.
The Whites occupying the third spot in the English second tier will hope of correcting their wrong in the last game against Cardiff.
The Cottagers, on the other hand, are aiming to get out of their bad run of three consecutive losses when they face their visitors in London.
The 25-year-old Serbian striker is the leading goalscorer in the Championship with 16 league goals this season.
Speaking further, the Scottish defender said Leeds know what is needed to be done to nullify Mitrovic.
While noting that Mitrovic is an unbelievable player who has proven himself both at club and country level, he said Leeds would do everything they can to nullify his attributes and then concentrate on how to hurt Fulham.
The former Newcastle striker has been involved in 48 percent of Fulham’s goals in the current season.No player in the division has been more vital to his side’s goal return.
Meanwhile, Leeds United manager, Marcelo Bielsa who confirmed that Cooper has returned to the team after being on the treatment table which made him missed three games, is unsure if he will be slotted in immediately into the starting line up in a bid to stop Mitrovic.
Speaking during a press conference ahead at Thorp Arch on Thursday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s, Bielsa described Fulham as a similar team to Leeds. The Argentine noted that the value Leed had last season are the same with theirs.
He added that they are also similar in terms of values which includes possession, chances, the quantity of shooting and they are one of the best teams in the Championship.
While noting that the match is a great challenge for Leeds United, Bielsa said his team would have to fix their position in the opposite half of a great opponent.
Comparing Mitrovic to former player, Bamford, he described the Serbian as a great forward, who has similar characteristics like Bamford, saying they are goal scorers who are very aggressive and they needed to be taken care of.
When asked how he intends to stop the forward, he said Mitrovic, Nketiah, Bamford are a mix of both characteristics, and added that It’s not about how much the opponent is known, but it’s important to have the ability to face them and beat them.
Fulham are fancied at 3.60 to defeat Leeds United, while Leeds are available at 2.01 to gain victory over Fulham. A draw is backed at 3.66.
