Napoli coach Antonio Conte has said everything is going according to plan with the club as transfer speculation on Victor Osimhen continues.
The Nigerian striker has been on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, who want to reinforce their attack after the exit of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
Osimhen’s agent is in talks with PSG, hoping they will be able to reach an agreement for the striker, but there are no major updates regarding the Nigerian striker’s sale.
Speaking during an interview with Rain Sport, Conte doesn’t fear that stalling talks will affect Napoli’s transfer activity.
‘The situation was already very clear.’ I was aware of it. It’s all going as planned. To me, it’s not a surprise to wait. We face every situation in the right way. We re-align, now we evaluate, and then there will be sales and new signings. The vision is very clear. There will be no problems.”
He said the team is working regularly, trying to improve in every aspect – technically, tactically, and mentally.
They tend to give up when they are tired. But we must improve in this aspect. I repeat: I see that there is a lot to do. The fans have great enthusiasm, but we must be very focused and do more than last season.
It is now left for Conte to lead Napoli, which failed to qualify for European football in the coming season.
The former Spurs manager said he didn’t expect anything as there will be necessary assessments. The coach, who noted that there is a lot of work to do, said there are advantages and disadvantages with a team that’s not playing European football.
He explained that having won the Premier League the last time he was hired by a club that didn’t play in European competitions, Conte admitted that it was not necessarily a favorable situation. He further explained that the advantage is that there is time to work for the entire week, but the disadvantage is that he won’t be.
When asked whether Inter is still the favorite to win the title, Conte said, ‘The others should make predictions.’
