Chelsea midfielder Jorginho rubbishes the rumours of him leaving Stamford Bridge this summer

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Jorginho leaving Chelsea. However, the Italian midfielder has claimed that he has not given any thought to leaving Stamford Bridge this summer. There has been a lot of rumours of him returning back to Serie A as his agent revealed that AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan are interested in the former Napoli midfielder.

The 29-year-old has a current contract running till 2023 and is gearing up for the FA Cup final against Leicester City and Champions League final against Manchester City.

Jorginho who joined the Blues in 2018 rubbished the claims of him not feeling settled at West London. “Of course, I do feel settled,” he said to the reporters.

“When I came here, everything was different. But I felt welcome straight away.

“It feels great after three years, and I know everyone here appreciates what I try to do for the club and for the people. So it feels like home now in England. It’s definitely not the time to think about contracts with two finals to play!”

“How could I want to leave the club? That’s not the point. It’s not the point even talking about it now. I’ve got two more years and like I said, I really feel at home here. So there’s no point actually even talking about it. And we have only just started under Thomas [Tuchel] – we’ve got a lot more to do here,” Jorginho added.

The Italian has been a regular in the middle of the park for the Londoners since the time of Maurizio Sarri. He even stayed through the managerial changes and has been a vital cog even in Thomas Tuchel’s lineup.

He was often criticised as most people do not understand the important role he plays for Chelsea. He dictates the tempo, initiates the buildups and even plays a big role in restoring possession.

Asking it the critics have finally understood his worth to this club, he said, “I hope so! If they don’t by now, they don’t understand football! But the results, the numbers, are there.

“So whoever wants to say something different, they can have their opinion, but it will not affect me in a bad way.

“Criticism will always be there, in any job. It depends how you take it. And for me, honestly, it’s just motivation to work even harder.”

Tuchel’s men will be in action on Saturday as they will go up against Leicester City in the FA Cup finals as the Blues will aim to win their first silverware of the season.
