Ajax’s star player, Mohammed Kudus, has captured the attention of several big football clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Liverpool. Everyone wants to sign him, especially Brighton, but things have taken an unexpected turn.
Brighton and Ajax had agreed on a price for the 23-year-old player. Ajax gave Brighton a deadline to finish the deal. This made Brighton the top contender. However, things haven’t gone as planned for Brighton. They had only 48 hours to complete the transfer and get a contract ready for Kudus. Sadly, they couldn’t make an agreement with him.
So, for now, the deal is off. But Kudus still wants to leave Ajax this summer. Even though the Brighton deal fell apart, Kudus is determined to find a new club. The price to sign him might go up now because Ajax knows many teams are interested.
Now, Chelsea seems to be in the lead to sign Mohammed Kudus. A source called Sussex World says Chelsea is the favorite. They’ve been keeping an eye on Kudus all summer. Since the deal with Brighton collapsed, Chelsea sees a chance to get Kudus for themselves.
Because Christopher Nkunku got hurt and can’t play for more than three months, Kudus would be a great replacement. He can also help Chelsea plan for the future since he’s a young and talented player. Last season, he did really well with Ajax. He scored 18 goals and gave 7 assists in 42 games.
Kudus can play in different positions, which gives his coach, Mauricio Pochettino, many choices. He can play near the striker, as a center forward, or on the right side. Ajax says Kudus is worth £40 million. Chelsea will probably have to pay something similar to sign him. If they offer too little money, it might not work out, just like what happened with another player, Moises Caicedo.
Bringing Kudus to Chelsea would make their attack even stronger. He’s getting better and better, and if he joins Chelsea, he could become one of the best young players in the Premier League. The right training and environment at Stamford Bridge could help him shine.
