Despite several transferred negotiations and businesses that Premier League club Chelsea are handling this summer, they have had the time to call on two strikers to resume training on Monday, July 17.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has sent the deadline for arrival in camp for two strikers, Romelu Lukaku, who spent the whole of last season on loan at Inter Milan and has been linked heavily with a permanent move to the Serie A club, and Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Romelu Lukaku spent the whole of last season at the San Siro and led the team to the Coppa Italia title, second place in the UEFA Champions League behind Manchester City, and a third-place finish in the league table.
His performances and contribution to the team, with ten goals in 25 Serie A games and three goals in eight champions league games, has forced Inter Milan to begin negotiations with the Blues, and they hope to complete a 40 million-pound signing of the Belgian striker.
On the other hand, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed to impress in the Blue shirt last season, playing just 21 times and scoring three goals in all competitions.
Despite the heavy number of departures from Stamford Bridge this summer, these two players haven’t left despite interest from European clubs and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
Meanwhile, one of Chelsea’s transfer targets this summer has confirmed that he is open to a move to Chelsea, and the Blues are interested in bringing him to London. Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo confirms he’s open to accept Chelsea.
“It’s a big team, that’s true. A very historic team, and I can’t say no because it’s a very big, historic, beautiful team. The city as well is beautiful,” Caicedo said.
Meanwhile, talks are already underway between Chelsea and Brighton.
