Champions League group stage final round

UEFA Champions League has reached the sixth and the final round of the group stage. Some 15 teams are still in contest for the eight remaining spots in the knockout stages, with PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Manchester City, Juventus, Barcelona and RB Leipzig already through. There’s a lot to be played for and the likes of Liverpool, Ajax, Inter and Dortmund still need a result on their final games in order to qualify.

The reigning champion Liverpool still has their work cut out for them for their visit in Salzburg. The hosts have to win the game in order to qualify and with a win they would likely leave Liverpool to third spot and out of the UCL knockout stages. In order for that to happen, Napoli would need at least a point from their home fixture against Genk, who have nothing to play for.

Salzburg – Liverpool (1×2): 3.55 – 4.10 – 1.87
Napoli – Genk (1×2): 1.17 – 7.40 – 14.00

Group H is the most confusing one heading to the last round. Ajax is leading with 10 points, while Valencia and Chelsea are tied with eight points. Valencia holds the tie-breaker after a win over Chelsea, but are facing Ajax in Amsterdam to finish off the group stage. Chelsea is hosting Lille, who are already out of the contest so the London side should have no issues grabbing a win. Ajax then needs at least a draw against Valencia in a game, where Valencia is likely to need a win, so we might be in for some attacking football especially heading towards the end of the game.

Ajax – Valencia (1×2): 1.62 – 4.20 – 4.85
Chelsea – Lille (1×2): 1.21 – 6.50 – 13.00

The other groups still have to settle the second team progressing, with one team already clinched their playoff-spot. Behind Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb and Atalanta all have a chance to qualify. Shakhtar holds the best hand so far, being second in the group and facing last placed Atalanta. With Dinamo Zagreb playing host to group winners Manchester City, anything can happen and every team is looking for a win.

Inter and Dortmund fight for the qualification behind Barcelona and the same goes for Zenit and Lyon after RB Leipzig, with Benfica still in contest with a big win over Zenit. Atletico Madrid and Leverkusen are still playing for their lives, with Leverkusen needing a win over Juventus and Atletico following suit against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Safe to say the last round of the Champions League group stage offers some exciting matchups and it will definitely be worth watching.
