Casemiro reveals he could not resist the temptation of a new challenge when Manchester United came calling

It has been a proper topsy turvy season for Manchester United as they started the season pretty poorly and things started hitting rock bottom when they lost 4-0 against Brentford. It was shocking for everyone in the Premier League and fans all across the globe as they simply could not believe that things took such a drastic turn. Therefore the team management decided to go out and snap up Casemiro from Real Madrid as they had a massive problem in the defensive midfield are and bringing the Brazilian will at least plug that gap.

It was a shocker from the Red Devils as not many people expected them to snap up a top player like Casemiro from the reigning Champions League winners, Real Madrid. But the money they were offering was too hard to resist for a 30-year-old who has won everything with Los Blancos and wanted to take up a new challenge.

The Brazil international was at the Old Trafford in their match against Liverpool. Although he did not feature in the game, it was his presence as some said that turned the players’ heads as Erik ten Hag’s men came out all guns blazing against their arch rivals Liverpool and eventually earned their first win of the new season by beating the Reds 2-1.

Casemiro recently spoke to the Manchester United’s official website where he shared how he could not resist the temptation of looking for a new challenge and therefore he took this decision to come to United. “The opportunity to start a new challenge at Manchester United and in the Premier League is extremely exciting,” the Brazilian stated.

Casemiro who has won several accolades as a Real Madrid manager shared how he has been with many managers but having heard things about Ten Hag, he simply cant wait to work with him. “I have worked with many great managers in my career and, having met with Erik and heard his ideas, I can’t wait to work closely with him, his staff and my new team-mates in the coming years.”

While many people thought Casemiro has won enough at Madrid and he is coming to experience the Premier League, the Brazilian has proven them wrong as he vowed to play to win matches, trophies and bring great glory to the club. “I’m ending one beautiful journey in Madrid whilst starting another in Manchester as determined as ever to win football matches, win trophies and make our fans proud by bringing success to this great club,” he revealed.

It will be interesting to see how Casemiro turns out in Erik ten Hag’s system as he will look to hold the base of the midfield and the backline tight, avoiding spaces in the final third. His combative playing style and winning mentality for sure will have an effect on the other players as the Brazilian midfielder is focused to create a name for himself at Old Trafford and not live on his past laurels.
