La Liga club Real Madrid has continued to secure their future by tying down another key player and youngster in their current squad to a long-term contract that will run till 2029. The Los Blancos have signed a contract extension with two Brazilians this week, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, and on Tuesday, the club confirmed that French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga signed a two-year extension onto his current deal, which will see him be at the club until at least 2029.
The 20-year-old joined Real Madrid 2 years ago from French club Stade Rennes and has reached a couple of milestones in his career, including playing for France at the last FIFA World Cup final in December 2022 as well as being a part of the Real Madrid team that played in the Champions League final win over Liverpool in 2022.
The versatile midfielder became the youngest senior France international after making a historic debut that broke a record that stood for 106 years in September 2020, making his debut in a Uefa Nations League victory over Croatia aged 17 years and nine months. He has a total of 12 caps for France so far.
He also became the youngest Rennes debutant, aged 16 years and four months, in April 2019 before going on to join Real Madrid on a six-year deal worth £27m from Ligue 1 until 2027.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said that the club is not willing to let go of any player in the upcoming transfer window.
“We are not planning to sign ANY player in January. I think the January market is OFF for us. Militão and Courtois will return before the end of the season. Nothing is set to happen in January. In summer, maybe. Unfair criticism? No, I don’t feel it. I feel loved by the fans and the Bernabéu. The club supports me every day. I don’t feel the criticism; I feel very comfortable here at Real Madrid”. Ancelotti said.
