The LaLiga Santander Executive Committee unanimously approves LaLiga Impulso. After unanimous approval, the definitive agreement with CVC will be presented to the 42 clubs at the LaLiga Assembly on December 10 and Cadiz already has plans for the money they will receive.
The bill stipulates that clubs must use the money to drive the global growth of LaLiga and its clubs. Specifically, the clubs must allocate 70% of the resources to investments in infrastructure, international development, and technology.
The funds that the CVC will distribute are as a 40-year loan with an interest of 0%. In addition, said funds will be considered as the club’s net worth. Therefore, they will not count as debt in the financial balances; this frees the clubs from being penalized by the UEFA Financial Fair Play.
The clubs that will benefit the most are FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, which will receive 250 million each. Also, 100 million will go to women’s soccer.
In total, the fund is injecting a total of 2,667 million in Spanish football and the objective is to lead the transformation that the entertainment world is experiencing and to maximize all the growth opportunities that the clubs have to develop a new business model that allow diversification and intensification of income generation and commercialization models, accelerating the digital transformation.
Cadiz CF will receive around 30 million, and it plans that 21 will be allocated to sports and digital infrastructure projects. The rest of the money will be used to sign new players and pay some outstanding debts.
This injection of capital may be what the club needs to continue building its sporting project and be more competitive in LaLiga.
