Cadiz is facing a challenging situation in the winter transfer market.
All the negotiations they have had with different clubs and players have been fruitless.
Now under new coach Sergio Gonzalez, the club is in desperate need of new blood to stay in the top flight.
Manual Vizcaino referred to the transfer situation in a press conference and said:
“We have been trying to make signings since mid-December. We are still trying to bring in top players, and options will continue to emerge. If someone said publicly that they didn’t want to come to Cadiz, they wouldn’t come for a billion, but that hasn’t happened,” said Vizcaino and added
“We do not want to bring for the sake of bringing. Today there is an important management, and we will see what happens. We want that what comes is not for illusion and because it has a name, but because they are really players that will help us improve,” he added.
“The idea is to bring three or four signings; we will be attentive to everything that comes up. And there will also be some departures so as not to be with more than 30 players. There are two players on the exit ramp.”
One of the players who is likely to leave the club in the coming weeks is Marcos Mauro. FC Juarez of Mexico is very close to singing the Argentinan defender, whose contract with Cadiz expires next June 30.
Negotiations are advanced, and the defender will likely travel this week to Mexico after saying goodbye to his teammates.
