For the past four months, the 31-year-old midfielder has said that he will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2019-20 season. The Brazilian’s contract is about to expire, and despite multiple negotiations, he has been unable to reach an agreement with the Blues.
According to ESPN reports, Frank Lampard wants to keep the player, but Willian doesn’t like the length of the new contract offered by Chelsea.
During his seven seasons at Chelsea, Willian played for Jose Mourinho, who has expressed his interest in taking him to Tottenham and Maurizio Sarri, who has also expressed intentions to add the Brazilian to the Juventus roster for next season.
Despite the former coaches’ interest, the Guardian reported that Arsenal might be the new club for Willian. Apparently, the Gunners already made a rather attractive offer to the player who is seriously considering moving to the Emirates Stadium.
Willian started in 29 games during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring nine goals and being a key player for Chelsea in many games. For this reason, the club will try to convince Willian to stay with them one last time, since they do not want to lose a player so talented and that could leave the club for free.
