The five-time world champion is looking for a new coach to take charge of the team,
Big names are on the list from Carlo Ancelotti to Pep Guardiola.
“We have been doing this work since the beginning, in January. I will only be able to talk about the coach when the World Cup is over. We also have several Brazilians (among the options), we have Portuguese, yes, also Europeans, we have Spaniards”, confirmed Ednaldo Rodrigues at a press conference. “It is a situation in which those we have as a priority are not always available, but it is a job that we have tried to do with great discretion, also because these coaches are not waiting to go to a club or a national team, they all have contracts”, explained the president of the CBF.
According to Rodriguez, they are exploring all possible options to find Tite’s successor and they have a long list of names, so the decision will not be easy and it will take some time.
“It is a process that is not very extensive, it is lonely, a lot of detail, a lot of wisdom, persistence and discretion. It is a situation that we have to continue in this way, and soon we hope to be finishing this chapter, coach”, said Ednaldo Rodrigues, confirming that the deadline to choose the new boss will be June 12 before the U-20 World Cup.
Mano Menezes assumed the position on an interim basis and prepares the team for the next FIFA date, while the new manager is chosen.
