Bournemouth had five different scorers in the first 45 minutes of their FA Cup fourth-round clash with Swansea City on Thursday, where they secured a 5-0 win over the Championship side to move into the next round of the competition.
David Brooks may have been the man of the match with a goal in the 35th minute and two assists, but it was Lloyd Kelly who fired Bournemouth ahead in the seventh minute; Alex Scott doubled the home side’s lead 10 minutes before Luis Sinisterra made it 3-0 four minutes later.
David Brooks provided the assists for the two opening goals; he then scored a fourth to make it 4-0 after providing two assists in the 35th minute.
Dominic Solanke completed the first-half rout in the 44th minute, but beyond the Cherries fans and manager, David Brooks was the most delighted with the performance, which he says will help his chances of making Wales’s squad for the Euro Qualifiers.
“I’m trying to do the best I can when I get the minutes and the opportunities. We’ve got a great group of players, and today was one of the chances I got to show what I’m capable of, and hopefully, I’ve done that. I want to be as fit as possible for the [Euro 2024] play-offs with Wales in March, trying to get as much football as possible, and these are the games where I can show what I can do to bump up the minutes ahead of the qualifiers.” Brooks said.
