Bayern slams fine on Defender for breaking lockdown order

Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have fined defender  Jerome Boateng for going against the lockdown rules laid down by the government as he left town without informing the club as he went to pay a visit to his sick son

Boateng left Bavaria without prior notice to the club, as the state is currently on lockdown due to the outbreak of the pandemic disease. To make matters worse, on his way back, German International crashed his car on the highway, which was wrecked.

The 31-year old defender was involved in a crash as the hailstorm disturbed his driving, which made his Mercedes with an enhanced summer tire come to an abrupt halt as he escaped unhurt.

Bayern has released a statement on Wednesday morning confirming the reports that Boateng has been fined for his actions and money delegated to local hospitals.

According to the statement which states that “Bayern Defender Jerome Boateng left Munich on Tuesday without prior notice. He has breached the rules and regulations given by the club by being too distant from his home”.

“These laid down rules guide the actions and behaviors of Bayern Munich players with the current situation at hand by the Bavarian state government orders on restriction movement and recommendations of the Health Authorities.”

The club believes it has some responsibilities to be a good example and role model to the players. As a result of this action, the club has decided to fine Jerome Boateng and the money donated to the Munich hospitals “.

Boateng has, however, responded towards the imposed fine and accepted responsibility.

He said, ” I will accept any fine anywhere in this world if it’s genuinely justified, and I am sure it was an error on my path not to inform the club about the trip.”

At that very moment, all I could get ever think of was the thought of my son. He was in a severe condition [health wise]. You have to do anything, and everything worth it when your child calls his father. I’ll drive off straight no matter what time it is. For his sake, I accept the fine. He is my son, after all “.

I’m yet to see that father who wouldn’t hurry in such a situation and wouldn’t take drastic actions to be his for year old boy. Well, to be honest, I’m sad, but it’s all well and good “.
