Bayern Munich hopeful of signing Konrad Laimer deal in coming weeks. Bayern Munich are remaining positive in their hopes of signing Austrian midfielder Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig.
Following the departure of star forward Robert Lewandoski to Barcelona, Bayern Munich has been searching for a replacement to fill the vacuum in their striking department.
The Bavarian club has prioritized pursuing their targets, getting them, and putting them in the mix with the remaining squad to create a bond ahead of the new Bundesliga season.
According to reports, Bayern has already confirmed the signing of teenage forward Mathys Tel from Ligue 1 side Rennes on Tuesday. Tel becomes the club’s fifth summer signing, and he is expected to link with the first team squad right away.
However, there are limits as to which the 17-year-old forward can lead the attacking line. The German Champions need a proper player with experience to spice up the frontline role Lewy previously occupied.
With the DFL Supercup coming this weekend, the club hierarchies are already working on getting their sixth summer signing and probably the last transfer this summer.
The latest reports from Germany indicate that Bayern is looking to shore up their midfield and has already identified RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer as their preferred candidate. This time around, after Leipzig rejected two previous bids, a deal could finally be agreed upon in the coming days.
Leipzig has their price set at €30m for suitors willing to get Laimer. With these developments, Bayern has no other choice than to pay the required amount if they are to get their man.
Although Laimer has just 12 months left on his current deal and Bayern will want to negotiate a lower fee, it is believed Leipzig won’t change their stance as this transfer might drag into the last days of the transfer window.
The Austrian international addition to the squad will bring a lot of tactical richness for Nagelsmann’s side in the middle of the Park next season. He will have time to settle down, having worked with Nagelsmann while at Leipzig.
