For the eight-year in a row, Bayern celebrated winning the Bundesliga title on Tuesday. However, this celebration was unlike the usual in the previous years, as the voice of the players could be heard echoing around the empty stadium as the lone goal separated both sides with just two rounds of matches to go
With the absence of fans around the empty stadium following the pandemic spread, it was a strange kind of display of mixed emotions as players put on unique t-shirts waving to the empty seats with the imagination of the fans in their hearts.
Bayern and Poland forward Robert Lewandowski said in an interview speaking, the celebration is strange without the presence of the fans.” The atmosphere is missing and something else, not the motivation but the passion from the fans”.
The game which handed over the title to the Bavarians was nothing but a typical Bayern game, which has always been a high scoring game with high profile wins.
Lewandowski’s goals earned Bayern a hard-fought physical win over Werder Bremen, which became a driver war as Alphonso Davies was red-carded in the 79th minute. All thanks to the super Manuel Neuer who made a smart one-handed save if not or that the celebrations would have to wait.
The win over Werder out Bayern 10 points adrift Borussia Dortmund, who is second place and can even get to amass maximum nine points from its remaining three games.
With the Bundesliga in the bag, Bayern turn their focus to the champions league as they host Chelsea in the return leg after a comfortable 3-0 win over the blues
