The German Champions face the prospective battle of losing some players soon if the club doesn’t tie them down by renewing their contracts.
Bayern qualified for the next round [quarter -finals] of the DFB Pokal Cup by a close 4-3 win margin over Hoffenheim on Wednesday night.
The Champions are currently top of the Bundesliga table and into the last 16 of the Champions League and that is their primary focus and task for the current campaign despite the contracts of the likes of Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez, Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, and Thiago Alcantara running down till the end of their deals which expires in June 2021.
Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic told reporters that talks would be held with players whose contracts are running down, but they need to concentrate on the upcoming competitions.
He said, “We must focus on the games in the coming weeks, that is our sole aim.
Questioned as to worries about other clubs potentially eyeing the stars who their contracts will be winding up, he replied and said: “that’s for sure nothing is impossible with top players, but we have positive experiences focusing on the competition, and that’s our intention.”
Bayern will be back in action this weekend as they host RB Leipzig in a crucial top of the table clash on Sunday.
