Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati has revealed that he is interested in a move to North London club Tottenham Hotspurs on loan as the transfer window nears a close.
The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona, and La Liga club sides, including Sevilla, have been interested in pricing the player away from the Blaugrana, while Tottenham is also interested.
However, it is the lure of playing in the Premier League that Fati prioritizes, and Tottenham could offer him that. With Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres ahead of Fati in Xavi’s Barcelona team, Fati’s father has been forced to prioritize an exit plan.
Fati played 36 games for Barcelona in La Liga last season, scoring seven goals and making two assists and even though he has played in all three of
Barcelona’s La Liga games this season, although they have all been cameos less than 25 minutes each.
When rumors of a possible exit of Ansu Fati from Barcelona this summer started, the manager chose not to believe it and said it was a joke as reports indicated that Real Madrid, who are Barcelona’s archival, and another London club, Chelsea, were interested in the player.
*This is a joke, right? I’ve already been very clear when talking about Ansu, and you keep generating nonsensical debates. Ansu is part of the club’s heritage and a very important player. He’s the present and future.” Xavi said.
Barcelona has two wins from three La Liga games this summer after a winless start at Getafe before going on to beat Cadiz 2-0 and a seven-goal thriller at the Estadio De La Ceramica at the weekend in a 4-3 win.
Barcelona will travel to Osasuna at the weekend before hosting Real Betis in their next two La Liga games. The Blaugrana are already trailing Real Madrid at the summit with two points on the La Liga table and are currently seated fourth with seven points from three games.
