La Liga club side FC Barcelona have told four of their players not to resume for pre-season as they hope to offload these for individuals before the start of the new season.
Barcelona finished second in the La Liga last season, but it was just a cosmetic achievement compared to how the whole of the season went from the start.
The Catalunya side is improving for the next season and have been busy in the transfer market in order to continue the rebuilding process, which started in January with the likes of Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, and Eric Garcia, who were brought in January.
The four players who are now surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou Stadium include French defender Samuel Umtiti, Denmark forward Martin Braithwaite, Riqui Puig, and Oscar Mingueza.
Manager Xavi who replaced Ronald Koeman last year has already informed the four players, with the backing of the club, that they do not need to resume pre-season training.
Furthermore, these players will not be part of the squad for the Barcelona tour of the USA in July.
Despite trying to get rid of these four players, Barcelona is still trying to bring in more players even with the financial situation that the club finds itself.
Most prominently, Barcelona have been linked with Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, and they have already seen two bids rejected by the minute for the striker, and a third bid is expected from the club for the 34-year-old that the German Bundesliga champions rate well over £60 million.
Midfielder Frankie De Jong has also been courted by Manchester United, while Barcelona have lined up possible replacements, including Bernado Silva and Carlos Soler.
Barcelona are also in the links to Leeds United midfielder Raphina whom they had agreed on personal terms but have yet to make a bid.
Reports say the player’s agent, Deco, a former Barcelona player was also in Spain holding a meeting with Barcelona officials on Wednesday in a bid to finalize a move.
