Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo has attracted interest from La Liga club Barcelona and German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who have swung into action in a bid to bring the RB Leipzig midfielder into their team ahead of the 2024/2025 league season.
Olmo had a fantastic season individual with RB Leipzig in the 2023/2024 session and then went ahead to help Spain win the Euro 2024 in Germany where he emerged as one of the joint-top scorers with three goals and two assists.
Initial reports claim that the midfielder was linked with Manchester City who were ready to pay his €60 million buyout clause on Tuesday but instead, the premier league champions denied making a move for Olmo.
Nevertheless, reports continue to link Manchester City to Dani Olmo alongside Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Evidently RB Leipzig are ready to let go of the midfielder this summer. The 26-year-old is also wanted by Atletico Madrid but he himself has stated that he has a plan which he intends to execute.
His buyout close will expire on July 20, but he still has a contract with RB Leipzig until 2027.
“My advisors, who are dealing with this, already know what I want to do. I don’t know if I will stay in Germany, we will see. I want to be in a place where I am appreciated and loved, and what I want to do is win. There are several options; we will see what happens.” Olmo said.
Olmo joined the RB Leipzig club in 2020 from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb and has made well over 100 appearances for the club side. For the Spanish national team, he has played 39 times scoring 13 goals for them and even helped them to a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
