Atletico Madrid’s Portuguese forward Joao Felix has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with multiple sides ready to swoop for the Portugal international.
London club sides Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Felix to feature at the World Cup for Portugal.
The Blues signed Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in January, but the 33-year-old has only scored a single goal in the Premier League for Chelsea.
Furthermore, Armando Borja sustained a long-term injury and thus left Chelsea with no choice but to reinforce their team in the striker’s department in January.
Joao Felix had always been on the radar of the Blues before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2019 for over 100 million dollars. Unfortunately, the Portugal international has failed to match the expectations, having scored just over 30 goals in three seasons in La Liga.
With Joao Felix still having three years left on his contract, Chelsea is tempted to get him on a loan deal in January with an option to buy at the end of the loan deal.
Chelsea has competition from Arsenal and Manchester United, although the former is not entirely pronounced in their pursuit of the Portuguese international.
The 23-year-old has scored three goals and three assists in twelve matches in La Liga. He featured in four FIFA World Cup games in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid’s Brazil forward Matheus Cunha moved to Wolves on loan ahead of a £44M permanent move in the summer.
Atletico Madrid will resume their La Liga journey against Elche on Thursday before their first fixtures of 2023 against Oviedo in the Copa Del Rey and Barcelona in La Liga.
The capital club are fifth in the Spanish league with 24 points from fourteen games this season.
