Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has been rewarded for his consistency and his contribution to Arsenal’s failed Premier League title charge with a contract extension till 2027.
The Gunners revealed this on Tuesday after the English forward put pen to paper. Saka has already made 178 appearances for Arsenal at just 21. This season, he’s scored 14 goals and 11 assists for Arsenal.
He would have run out of contract at the end of next season, but the forward is delighted with the new deal.
“I’m just really happy. There’s been a lot of talking, and it’s been a while, but I’m here now. I think this is the right club, the right place to take the next step. It’s a beautiful club – look where we are. For me, it’s about achieving my personal ambitions – how much I push myself and demand from myself each game, week in, week out. Then I have all the right people around me in terms of family, and when I come to the training ground, my teammates, the coaching staff.” Saka said.
Arsenal lost out on the title charge as Manchester City won the league with games to spare and seven points ahead of the Gunners going into the final Matchday of the season.
The contract extension could be the start of a busy summer for Arsenal, who are already linked with a move for West Ham United’s Declan Rice.
After a trophyless season, which will conclude with a home tie to Wolves, Arsenal will play MLS All-Stars in August in their first pre-season, with games against Manchester United and Barcelona all in August.
Meanwhile, after Newcastle United played their outstanding game on Monday in a 0-0 draw with Everton on Monday which secured UEFA Champions League football, Manchester United will face Chelsea at Old Trafford while Brighton welcome champions Manchester City in the remaining outstanding fixtures.
