After an impressive start to the La Liga season by Atletico Madrid, which came as a result of their 3-0 victory away from home against Getafe on Monday, Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has revealed that Portuguese midfielder Joao Felix is a special talent that he loves playing with.
In the game played at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Monday, Atletico Madrid beat their hosts 3-0, with Morata scoring a brace and Antoine Griezmann ending his La Liga goal drought with a goal in the game.
The goal is his first La Liga goal since the 1st of November 2021. Meanwhile, Joao Felix provided all three assists on the night in the game.
Morata, who spent last season at Italian club side Juventus, returned to the Wanda Metropolitano and has had nothing but praise for Joao Felix, stating that he really wants to play at the capital club.
“The truth is that Joao has a special talent, that last pass. Although also Correa, Lemar, Marcos, Koke… the people behind put up great balls, and we have to keep working and run into space. They have always treated me very well, and I still have to work and give everything for the team. There will be times when it goes better, others worse, but it won’t be for lack of work.” Morata said.
The forward spent two seasons on loan at Juventus, and although he has returned to Atletico Madrid, there were reports that linked him with a return to England but this time with Manchester United, but no deal has moved forward yet for the striker.
However, reports have actually linked the Red Devils to Atletico Madrid Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, but negotiations are still ongoing.
Atletico Madrid will return to La Liga action on Sunday 21st of August when they face Villarreal at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
