Cadiz CF boss Alvaro Cervera seems to have found his ideal team. Among Cervera’s trusted men are Ruben Sobrino, Tomás Alarcón, Anthony Lozano and Jeremias Ledesma.
The players mentioned above have the most minutes of action in the last 13 games and are fixed in the starting team.
On the other hand, some players are almost not counting minutes on the pitch, and sources close to the club said they could leave Cadiz in January in search of better opportunities.
Martin Calderon heads the list of Cervera’s forgotten ones. The player knew that it would be difficult for him to count in the rotation of the first team because his playing profile did not fit with the game scheme used by Cervera. So far, the player has only had 47 minutes of action. The 22-year-old is currently injured, which further complicates his situation. However, in January, the player will likely request to be borrowed.
Ivan Alejo had everything ready to move to Valladolid in the summer; however, the club backed down at the last minute. The player has only played 67 minutes, and recently Cervera has given indications that the player could enter his plans for the second half of the season.
Alvaro Jimenez had a promising preseason, and there were great expectations about the player. However, he has only played 179 minutes, and his participation has gone unnoticed. Cervera wanted Jiminez to be the first alternative to Salvi, but the player has failed to meet the boss’s expectations.
Finally, the most striking case is that of Alvaro Negredo. The player was a fundamental piece in Cervera’s scheme last season. But, this season, the player has only had 547 effective minutes of play, and it does not seem to be in the boss’s plans. Negredo has taken the situation with outstanding professionalism. Still, it is unknown how long he will be able to endure without being part of the initiators of the first team.
