The manager of Cadiz CF, Álvaro Cervera, has officially reached 200 games for the club after playing a goalless draw against Villareal.
Cervera, who took over the reins at the Cadista club on April 18, 2016, has now been on the touchline for the club in 7 LaLiga Santander games.
He has been tinkering the newly promoted side from the second division with an attacking philosophy.
The manager has been involved in four games in Group IV of Second B, six playoffs for the team before eventually winning promotion last season.
He reached the 200 games mark after being in charge of 167 league games, 14 of the Copa del Rey, two playoffs for promotion to LaLiga Santander and seven games in the Spanish top flight. He has also recorded 84 wins, 64 draws and 52 losses so far with the Cadista club.
His debut was against Merida which he lost 0-1 in Carranza on April 23, 2016. Since then, Cervera has been able to turn the fortune of the club around Cadiz, playing a significant role in the promotion playoffs, taking the club to a second-place finish in the second division before getting promoted to the top flight.
He played the qualifying games against Racing de Ferrol, Racing de Santander and Hércules.
In the 2016/2017, he took the then second division side to one of their best position fifth with his good coaching philosophy, gathering 64 points to contest for the playoff.
Having been in the second division for six years, Cadiz returned to the Spanish top flight after securing the title last season with five points over Huesca with a game left. Their La Liga status was confirmed despite losing 1-0 at home to Fuenlabrada as results elsewhere went in their favour.
Having failed to score, there was anxiety in Cadiz camp as they wanted to avoid playoffs again. They eventually did, and the rest is history.
Cadiz is currently the 6th spot on the La Liga table after seven games with 0 goal difference.
