Juventus new manager Massimiliano Allegri wants talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci to continue with him.
Allegri recently took over from Andrea Pirlo, who sacked after failing to secure the League title for the Old Lady,n won the Super Cup and Copa Italia while managing to qualify for the Champions League.
According to Italian media, Allegri will be meeting with Juventus about the trio’s future on Thursday and address other pressing issues ahead of the new season.
Ronaldo, who won the highest goalscorer award recently, has speculations surrounding him, as he is linked to many clubs who still believe in his ability. Allegri is also expected to give his opinion on the defensive department as well during the meeting.
The Portuguese captain could leave the Old Lady after appearing dissatisfied over the decision of the club not to give Pirlo one more opportunity to continue his rebuilding process.
It was gathered that the new manager had decided that he wants Chiellini and Bonucci to at least sign one more year contracts. So, the duo are expected to be handed a new contract with Bianconeri.
This is surprising as he seemed o have an issue with Bonucci. But from the look of things, the Tuscan coach has resolved it with the veteran defender, and both parties are ready to start fresh terms in 2021-22.
Thus, the two veterans, who are both captains, will therefore remain at the Allianz Stadium. They are expected to will play an important role in the new team in the coming season.
While Matthijs de Light is considered the future of the Juventus defence, the two veterans are expected to assist the Dutch center-back and help his growth in Turin.
Chiellini will turn 37 in August. He is expected to be part of Italy set up ahead of the Euros. Since his current deal expires on June 30, his future at the club seemed to have been sorted.
