AC Milan set to sign Renato Sanches as Kessie’s replacement

 

According to reports AC Milan have made tremendous progress in their big to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches and are closing in on a full agreement.

The Portuguese player has been linked with a transfer to AC Milan repeatedly for a few months. In fact, several sources have claimed that he is the chosen heir to Milan midfielder Franck Kessie. They even clam that a deal was even close to being struck in the January window.

As AC Milan aims to win the Serie A title the season, they are already looking for reinforcements to their squad.

Franck Kessié will move to Barcelona from Milan this summer on a free transfer. The Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessié head to the Catalan club on a free transfer this summer after he agreed to a four-year contract with them. His departure will create a void in the Milan midfield, and Renato Sanches is the perfect player to fill his shoes.

According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan are negotiating a deal with LOSC Lille for Sanches. The report stated that AC Milan’s directors, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, have made a ‘significant’ step towards signing the 24-year-old.

Nonetheless, Milan will face a lot of competition for the former Bayern Munich player. Sanches has been on the radar of many top European club sides for some time, with Arsenal also in the race to sign Sanches. Many journalists claim that the Gunners view the Ligue 1 star as a replacement for Granit Xhaka.

In other transfer news, PSG are interested in signing Salernitana’s Éderson. The Brazil international has caught the eye of many European elite clubs. The 22-year-old joined the Salernitana from Corinthians in 2022 and was contracted till 2026. Salernitana club president Danili Iervolino discussed a possible transfer for the Brazil international and named the asking price for Ederson. He stated he would sell the defensive midfielder for €30M-€35 million.
