It is no longer news that OGC Nice have bolstered their squad by signing Aaron Ramsey on loan.
The Wales international and former Arsenal midfielder moved to the Ligue 1 club after an unsuccessful stint with Juventus.
The 31-year-old, who has already begun his training with the club, has said he can’t wait to get started.
Ramsey took to his Instagram page with a picture of him training in the Nice shirt and wrote: “can’t wait to get started.”
The midfielder suffered various injuries at Juventus, and he was not in the plan of Max Allegri. This made the club attempt to cancel his contract, but both parties couldn’t agree on compensation.
Nice also welcomed Alexis Beka while Stade Rennais signed Ramsey’s compatriot Joe Rodon from Tottenham on an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy.
OGC Nice announced the arrival of the midfielder on Monday.
Juventus will be hoping he stays fit throughout the season and could eventually make his move permanent next summer.
The 31-year-old Welshman went to Rangers on loan six months ago. He was part of the squad that played for the Scottish club in the Europa League final a few weeks ago.
The Cardiff City academy product made a name for himself at Arsenal. He played for the Gunners for almost ten years, winning three FA Cups. He also won three Italian titles with Juve.
Before his announcement, OGC Nice had announced the arrival of Beka, another promising midfielder.
The SM Caen academy product was with Lokomotiv Moscow last season, making 28 appearances.
The 21-year-old played for the French Olympic team in Tokyo.
Coincidentally, two Welsh players joined Ligue 1 clubs the same day.
Rennes believes that his addition will help the club achieve its aims. The club’s technical director Florian Maurice believes that he has the experience to play the role.
“He is a real central defender who likes to defend; he has this aggressive side that we need in order for us to be even more efficient defensively. He is an international, a starter with Wales, and will certainly be called upon to play in the World Cup in November,” He added.
