Francis Ngannou is setting his sights on a rematch with Tyson Fury, undeterred by the outcome of his upcoming boxing match against Anthony Joshua.
The former UFC heavyweight champion faced Fury in a closely contested bout last October, resulting in a decision loss. Now, as Ngannou prepares to square off against Joshua in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on March 8, he remains steadfast in his desire for a second meeting with “The Gypsy King.”
Ngannou expressed his conviction that Tyson Fury owes him a rematch, reiterating his determination to face Fury again, regardless of the result in Fury’s upcoming undisputed championship fight against Oleksandr Usyk on February 17. The Cameroonian-born fighter believes that Tyson Fury, having experienced his boxing style in their first encounter, is now more prepared for what to expect. However, Ngannou is committed to elevating his game and surprising his opponents, aiming to secure a victory against Joshua and pave the way for a rematch with Fury.
The fact that he is labeled an underdog with odds of +500 in the upcoming match against Joshua does not faze Ngannou as he remains confident and sure of his chances. He acknowledges the challenges of facing a former champion like Joshua but sees it as an opportunity to prove himself in the boxing world. Ngannou is determined to exceed expectations, emphasizing the need to intensify his efforts and strategy to secure a win.
As Ngannou prepares for his clash with Joshua, he is quite aware of what a fight against a seasoned competitor who has been a dominant force in the sport represents. With Joshua’s extensive experience and achievements, Ngannou acknowledges the tough task ahead but remains undaunted in his pursuit of victory.
The former UFC champion’s singular focus on Tyson Fury, regardless of the outcomes in both his and Fury’s upcoming fights, is proof of his determination and desire to earn a win over Fury, even if just once.
