Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry feels it will be imperative for his team to be mentally prepared for the first-round playoff matches against Sacramento Kings. The Dubs didn’t have the best of the regular seasons but they were able to seal their postseason berth.
In fact, the Warriors finished the regular season with 44-38 record. Furthermore, they have peaked at the right time, winning eight out of their last 10 matches.
Steve Kerr’s team has all the experience under their belt and they will be looking to defend their title by going all the way.
Steph Curry said, “You have to assume they’re going to stay true to their DNA that made them successful. It’s what we do. Going into a playoff series, those adjustments happen based on how each game kind of unfolds. Even in-game adjustments based on certain momentum waves and all that.”
The three-pointer king highlighted the importance of playing according to the situation.
“We love the playoff atmosphere and all of that. But you don’t really try to outsmart yourself going into the series. It’s just being prepared and knowledgeable about what they do well.”
Curry averaged 29.7 in the regular season 2022-23 and he is absolutely going to hold the key for Golden State Warriors. Curry also gave an update on the availability of Andrew Wiggins, who has been out of action due to personal reasons.
Curry confirmed ahead of the Saturday playoffs match, “He looks good!”
Steve Kerr also talked about Wiggins as well and said, “He’s just like Andre Iguodala, they always stay ready, he never gets tired!”
Golden State Warriors will next face Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs.
