Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr feels they are operating more efficiently after their convincing 126-106 win against Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. This was Dubs’ fifth consecutive win and they will look to continue the good show.
Klay Thompson top-scored for the Warriors with 28 points and he has been in imperious form, hitting at least 20 points in the last five games. Kerr reckons Thompson’s good form is making the team more settled.
“I think over the last five games, he’s just taking better shots,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “And as a result, our team is more settled. We just feel like we’re operating more efficiently.”
Thompson is also gaining confidence as he is hitting his baskets on target. “It just seems to be going in at a higher frequency these last five, six games,” Thompson said.
Steph Curry, who once again played a key role with 27 points, showered praise on Thompson for his consistent performance.
“Consistently, the ball is moving, he’s finding good looks — and that’s the Klay Thompson we know,” Curry said.
The Warriors will next take on the defending champions Denver Nuggets in their next match and it will be a huge game for the Dubs.
“Marquee game on Christmas, it’s going to be a great atmosphere,” Curry said. “We’ve been in that environment before, so understanding what it’s going be like on the road.”
Kerr feels the balance between the youngster and experienced batters is right within the team.
“The balance feels right,” Kerr said. “We’ve got a lot of options every night at our disposal as a staff and a lot of good players, so we’re able to survive injuries like we’ve done. But the group just feels right. We’ve got a really deep roster and guys who complement each other well.”
