Steph Curry is getting better with every passing day in this season. Everytime the Gold State Warriors play, the Chef always comes up with mesmerising numbers. It will mostly be a 30 points or more game or atleast a crazy triple-double encounter where he ended up shooting some of the most clutch threes.
His influence has completely changed the course of the game and still people wait for him to come up with his moment of magic every single day. The fans must have gotten used to this brilliance from the 32-year-old point guard, even his coach Steve Kerr struggles to find a new adjective for Curry after every game.
However, Kerr last day came up with this huge compliment as he claimed that Curry’s wizardry reminded him of his greatest teammate Michael Jordan. “He’s reminding me of MJ in that you just get so used to the brilliance and the excellence, it sort of blends in with everything else,” Kerr said.
“It just becomes routine. It’s insane to say that because what you’re watching is otherworldly, and yet you sort of begin to expect it. That’s probably the purest sign of greatness,” he continued.
Kerr’s comparison of Curry with Michael Jordan is not an exaggeration as he has single-handedly kept the Warriors in contention to make it to the playoffs via featuring in the play-ins. They are currently in the eighth position in the Western Conference with a record of 33-32 as they are all set to feature in the play-ins.
The Warriors’ chief coach here has compared how Curry is equally important for this team than Jordan was for the Chicago Bulls during the three-peat era in the late 90s.
Kerr did not stop there as he lauded Curry for his off-court demeanour as well. Here he compared the point guard with Tim Duncan who is another legendary player and was known for his humble nature as a person.
“The combination of humility and humour and then total confidence on the floor. It’s such an amazing combination,” Kerr explained the similarities between Curry and the San Antonio Spurs legend.
“A lot of people who have the humour and the humility, usually guys like that are the ones who are at the end of the bench. So when you have a superstar that has that type of combination, it’s so rare and incredibly powerful,” he concluded.
