Steph was just breathtaking – Steve Kerr after Curry scores 47 points against Sacramento Kings
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was all praise for Steph Curry after the talisman scored 47 points against Sacramento Kings on Monday night. GSW was coming into this game after losing their previous five matches but Curry took the onus of getting his team over the line against the Kings.
The Dubs registered their fourth win of the season as they won by 116-113. Along with 47 points, Curry scored eight rebounds and as many assists to single-handedly destroy the opposition. Curry pocketed seven three-pointers in the game.
“Steph was just breathtaking,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “He’s obviously one of the greatest players of all time and he plays so well on so many nights. But this even seemed like something special for him.”
Standing at 3-7 before this game, Draymond Green was confident that Curry was not going to let them lose against the Kings.
“It was very Game 4 of the NBA Finals to me. He just wasn’t going to allow us to lose,” Draymond Green said. “Take that with a grain of salt because I’m not saying this game was as important. But you know when to get out of the way. It was one of those times where he was taking over.”
Meanwhile, Curry admitted that the young players are going to take their own time in hitting the ground running on the big stage and it is going to be challenging for them but they need to be patient.
“We have to understand that (the young players) are all going to get an opportunity to perform, and there are going to be some struggles — some really high highs, and some really low lows,” Curry said. “That’s the story of this team. As vets, you understand every year is a little different and you are ready for that challenge. For these young guys to try and find themselves in this league and also a specific role, it’s challenging.”
Golden State Warriors will next take on Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.
