The Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies have been among the top performing teams in this NBA season as both the teams are currently in third in their respective conference. They also have a standout superstar turning up every game so one can safely say that it is down to Ja Morant and Joel Embiid to decide the fate of their teams this season.
Joel Embiid is in sensational form this season and is one of the main contenders for the MVP award. In their win against the Sacramento Kings, Embiid scored 36 points and played a very crucial role in handing the Sixers the win. So one can very well say that the Cameroonian is warmed up and ready to face the Grizzlies.
Grizzlies talisman Ja Morant has also been a star performance in the NBA as he also guided his team to a brilliant win over the Washington Wizards. Morant took centre stage in the win over the Wizards as he delivered 34 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists on the night to help the Grizzlies to cruise through.
The entire NBA fraternity are speaking about Ja Morant and his talent. He is easily one of the best players in the league in his position and also the face of the NBA’s next generation. He has already earned several plaudits at such young age and considering his growth the best is yet to come for the Memphis Grizzlies talisman.
After dropping an MVP level performance against the Sacramento Kings, Joel Embiid spoke to the media about their next match against the Memphis Grizzlies. There the Cameroonian hailed the Memphis Grizzlies as a great unit disregarding the Ja Morant factor. He highlighted how even in his absence the Grizzlies maintained a great record hence he feels that they have a great unit overall.
“They got a pretty good team, obviously, with or without him (Ja Morant),” Joel Embiid said. “(During) the games he missed, I think they were 10-2 or something like that. So, they got a pretty good team.”
The Grizzlies are on a three game winning streak and hold a 7-3 record from their last 10 games. Whereas the Sixers are on a four-game winning streak. So it will be interesting t see how Ja Morant reacts to Embiid’s statements and eventually who ends up having the last laugh.
