Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was delighted after a 136-125 win against Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. Steph Curry and Jordan Poole collectively scored 64 points to help their team register a much-needed win.
Curry had 34 points whereas Poole added 30 points for the Dubs. In fact, GSW was trailing by 11 points after the first half but bounced back in the second half.
GSW took the fourth quarter by 34-19 and it was a fine effort from the home team at Chase Center.
With this win, the Warriors moved into fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
“It’s fun, this is all what it’s about. We love the competition and even though we’d prefer to be home free in the playoffs right now, this is where we are,” coach Steve Kerr said. “Really proud of the guys what they’ve done here in recent weeks to put ourselves in this position but now we’ve got to go finish the deal and get into the top six.”
Poole was delighted with the team’s win and he is happy that he is playing at his best at the fag end of the regular season.
“They all matter. You try to lock in as much as possible and put us in a really good position to be successful,” Poole said.
On the other hand, Draymond Green contributed 17 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Furthermore, Moses Moody finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
“It definitely had that playoff feel to it being out here in these games, how much each game matters, how much each possession matters,” Moody said.
Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins is back with the team and he received a warm ovation from the home crowd. Wiggins has now started his training with the team after missing all the matches since mid-February due to family matter.
“To have him back and see his emotions and see him smiling, that’s a bright spot for the team,” Moody said.
GSW will next face Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
