Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams showered praise on LeBron James’ career longevity and his Basketball IQ rating the talisman as probably the greatest athlete he has ever seen. James is still going strong at 36 and he has shown that there is a lot of fuel left in his tank.
King James has been playing at the top of his game and a lot of credit goes to his fitness for his long career. This is the 19th season of the NBA in which LeBron James is playing and he is still delivering the goods for his team.
Meanwhile, despite James’ effort of 34 points, Phoenix Suns won against LA Lakers by 108-90. After the team’s win, Monty Williams acknowledged James’ greatness.
Monty said after the team’s win, “I can’t put into words what that guy has been able to do, for as long as he has been able to do it. I’m not just about talking about the crowds. We’ve not heard about him when he was in the eighth-ninth grade. He has been able to play at such a ridiculous level, with that kind of pressure – almost 30 years. Probably the greatest athlete I have ever seen. Now he’s in his 19th year and dealing with all the injuries and the stuff they’ve dealt with, he’s still playing at an extremely high level. Never seen anything like that.”
Williams heaped praise on LeBron James for his high Basketball IQ and for his presence on the court.
He added: “I’ve always had great respect for LeBron. Coaching against him I have even more respect for his IQ because when you are coaching you get a chance to listen to what he’s saying to the referees. It’s usually stuff that you don’t hear from a majority of the players in the NBA. You know you are sitting there, ‘Like wow, I can’t believe he asked that question.’ You know what I mean. He has a really high IQ. He’s just a phenomenal athlete, let alone a basketball player.”
LeBron James has been a top player over the years and he would aim to continue his good form. However, LA Lakers haven’t been at their best in the ongoing season as they have a 16-16 record. Phoenix Suns, on the other hand, have been dominant as they have a 25-6 record thus far.
Lakers have now lost their last three matches and they will next face San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.
