In the NBA the fans most of the time speak about high profile big names like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden or Kawhi Leonard but since the last few years, another name that should be up on that list is Denver Nuggets star centre, Nikola Jokic. The Serbian has been in the fiery form off late and has had answers to every question that the opposition defenders have asked him.
There are people who love the 26-year-old centre for his exceptional passing abilities and his forte of switching plays. The Joker has also earned his accolades of winning games single-handedly. He has a great partner in crime in Jamal Murray but not a lot of people think of him as their favourite NBA player. However former Phoenix Suns legend Daniel Majerle feels that the Serbian is the most entertaining player and his favourite in the NBA. The 55-year old said that he sees the Greatest of All-time in the making in LeBron James and also had high praises for Steph Curry. But he chose Nikola Jokic over any NBA superstar in terms of entertainment.
In a recent interview, Majerle expressed, “Joker from Denver… I love guys who have a high basketball IQ. I just fixate on him and just the way he’s thinking. He plays two or three steps before anybody else. Just the passes that he makes and his vision. Sometimes, he’ll catch the ball, just stand there and he’ll make a quick move, or he’ll dribble and he’ll fake you and then drop a pass, just his mental IQ, I just love watching him play. Defensively, he is slow, but he is always in the right position. You don’t do that if you’re not thinking about the game and that’s what I love watching, guys who think the game. He is the best at it by far.”
Jokic this season has been a huge driving force for the Denver Nuggets as he has propelled the team to the fifth position in the Western Conference. He has literally been a phenom for his team as he is averaging 27.1 points, 11.3 rebs, 8.6 assists at a 57.1% FG and 42.7% 3P. he been miles better than anyone in this team and is also among the best in the NBA.
