Ahead of the 2020 NBA Playoffs, which will start on Monday, August 17, the NBA has recorded no positive coronavirus cases.
The result from the latest round of testing, which was done on 342 players on the NBA camps, means that no player has tested positive since the last result was announced on August 5.
In the case of any positive test in the future, the affected player will go into isolation and only return when and if tested negative and cleared to return by the NBA and Players Association.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Boston Celtics announced that they have handed a contract extension to head coach Brad Steven.
Stevens became the head coach of Celtics in July 2013, and he has managed to become the fourth manager with most wins in the history of the Celtics in just six years.
His 318 wins puts him fourth behind 795 wins by Auerbach, 427 wins by Heinsohn, and 416 by Rivers. He is already considered an accomplished coach by Boston Celtics Lead Owner and Governor Wyc Grousbeck, who also stated that the club is proud to have him lead the team.
Danny Ainge also gave Brad praises and expressed his pleasure with the fact that he will be leading the club’s pursuit of the club’s next championship.
“Brad is one of the most intelligent and hard-working coaches in the game today. More importantly, his character and integrity have contributed to a culture that we all highly value here. Brad is a great teammate and a leader people want to follow. We are honored to have him with us as we continue to pursue our next championship.” Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge said.
However, due to the club’s policy, the manager’s contract terms and details was not revealed.
