The Brooklyn Nets are surely the favourite to win the NBA Championship this season. The Nets have the scariest lineup with the ‘Big Three’ including the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. Although they are the second seed in the Eastern Conference right now, the tables may very well turn during the playoffs.
One factor that has been missing from the team is that the ‘Big Three’ have not featured for a long stretch of games. All three players have missed matches this season due to injury and hence the fans have not seen them play together. First it was KD who missed games due to injury then there was a period where Kyrie had to miss a few games and now with KD back, Harden is out on the sidelines. So it has been a frustrating regular season for Steve Nash. However, with The Beard coming back in action for the game against San Antonio Spurs, the Nets will start walking on their destined path.
The main for Nash will be to gradually get harden back at his best. The Beard has not played since April 5 where he picked up the hamstring injury. So Nash needs to be very careful with his workload management. But the ‘Big Three’ running the floor the Nets will definitely be the team to beat this season in the playoffs.
In a recent interview NBA legend and 8-time All-Star, Vince Carter spoke about the positives of James Harden’s return to action.
“This is an important stretch for them. It’s money time. It’s going to win time and they wanna dominate. And in the first round, for their team to get some cohesiveness, some time together, understanding, that makes it six and a half games together. Now they will probably get nine and a half/ten games together, it’s an even number, so it sounds good, but it’s not enough. So they wanna take care of the business in the first round. So it’s important for James to get his legs back more than anything, to get back and rip,” the Raptors legend opined.
The Nets have some matches remaining in the regular season which Steve Nash can use as a preparation for the postseason. It will also help the players to know the roles they are in and build chemistry which will help them go all the way.
