The NBA Finals are heating up as now the Milwaukee Bucks have clawed their way back into the contest against the Phoenix Suns. The Bucks still cannot rest after winning Game 3.
They will be desperate to restore parity in the finals and then take it forward from there. With the Suns still holding a 2-1 lead, the Bucks need to be very mindful of their situation.
Bucks talisman, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the leader for Mike Budenholzer’s men. It is no secret that the Bucks will need their star player to perform big once again if they want to have a shot at winning Game 4. The Greek Freak came up with a game high 41 points to guide the Bucks to a 120-100 win over the Suns in game 3.
However, Bucks legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar has some words of wisdom for the 2x MVP. He said, “They’ve got to learn how to blend their inside game and their outside game.”
The Bucks were outplayed in the first two games of the finals by the much efficient Phoenix Suns.
But then courtesy of Giannis’ massive performance the Bucks have managed to claw their way back. Some people are already claiming that the momentum will take the Bucks forward and may even hand them the NBA Championship for here. But for that to happen the Bucks will have to play out of their skins and firstly they need to level the scoreline with their opponents.
Looking at the Bucks, Kareem has come to the conclusion that efforts are not equating well with the outcome for the Bucks in the final series.
“He’s [Giannis] had plenty of games where he scored 30 and 40 points and they’d lost. So, they’ve got to do it a different way where his effort is blended into something that works for everybody.”
The NBA legend was clearly pointing out to their loss in Game 2 where Giannis dropped a solid 41 points and yet the Bucks lost. It was a one-man show for Mike Budenholzer’s team. The Greek Freak had no support and hence the Suns simply rolled them over.
Despite highlighting the problems, Kareem believes that his former side has enough quality to win the NBA Championship from here. “The game that they [Bucks] won in Brooklyn, they were wonderful because they moved the ball around, a lot of different guys got wide-open shots. They look like a great balanced team,” Kareem further added.
