Christmas day is always a big one for basketball fans every year because it is always packed with big games, and some big names, taking the day’s celebration to another height. It is a day of full basketball fun as we get to witness 10 teams just play a good game, without any drama.
One of such games to see would be between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. Two big teams from the same city. So far, this season, both teams have been outstanding. This would be their second meeting this season after they faced each other on the opening night. The first meeting saw Lakers take a beating as the Clippers finished 10 points ahead, with a final scoreline of 102-112.
This second fixture is expected to be different, a bit. Clippers are hoping even to take things further. According to Clippers star, Kawhi Leonard, the two teams playing today would be very different from the ones who played on October 22. He highlighted the fact that they, the Clippers now have Paul George and that the Lakers might have Kyle Kuzma on their team, making things more interesting. Kawhi was instrumental in helping his team win that last time, scoring 30 points.
Indeed, there had been some changes to the teams. In their last meeting, Lakers’ Point Gaurd Rajon Rando was unavailable due to an injury, and Alex Caruso was benched, and their absence affected the course and turned out of the game. The Lakers team would make some changes to ensure everything goes well today.
Clippers are also not leaving anything to chance. With George fully recovered from an injury, he is expected to take part in today’s game.
Also, they are expected to play a good aggressive game, while Lakers would rely heavily on their defense, putting Anthony Davis at the center, something that could give the other side a tough time. Also, we look forward to the Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James rivalry, as the former Toronto player is expected to tire James out quick.
The game is scheduled for 8 p.m ET.
