Gobert’s criticisms targeted referee Scott Foster, particularly after receiving a technical foul in the final moments of regulation for making a ‘money sign’ gesture, a clear jab at Foster’s officiating.
Post-game, Gobert openly addressed his actions and the broader implications for the NBA, stating, “I’ll bite the bullet again. I’ll be the bad guy. I’ll take the fine, but I think it’s hurting our game. I know the betting and all that is becoming bigger and bigger, but it shouldn’t feel that way.”
