The NBA FInals have been a very intense battle between two great teams in the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. While the series was going level till Game 4, the Warriors won back to back matches to take Game 5 and take a 3-2 lead heading into Game 6 in Boston. But before that a lot happened in Game 5 as the Celtics did not turn up properly even though it was a tough shooting night from star man Steph Curry.
On Fox Sports’ “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed,” Shannon Sharpe questioned Jaylen Brown’s performance as he turned the ball over multiple times allowing the Warriors take advantage in the game and that is exactly the area they need to improve in the next game or else the Finals are over.
The Celtics lost 104-94 as Jaylen Brown dropped a 18 point performance. However his turn overs in the entire match created a lot of problems for the Celtics defence. Ime Udoka’s men turned the ball over 18 times to lose the crucial clash. “Nobody has hands that bad. How do you even make it to the league with hands that bad?” Sharpe criticizes Jaylen brown for his poor turn overs.
Jaylen Brown till now has been fantastic in this Finals but last day he simply lost the plot as the game became very lose. But the constant turnovers took the wind out of the Celtics’ sails. Sharpe shared how for the first time the occasion looked too big for the Celtics as they could not win a game where Stephen Curry could not hit a three pointer but was well backed by his teammates.
“For the very first time last night, it looked as if the moment was too big for the Celtics. The best player in the series struggles the way in which he struggles, the team goes 9-40 from 3 and you still lose by double digits? The optimism is not very high, it can’t be very high.”
The Boston Celtics overcame the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat in seven games so the fans still have hope but for that they need to win Game 6 and protect home court to force a decisive Game 7 at the Chase Center. It will be interesting to see if Jaylen Brown manages to shake off the criticism and comes out as a better player as the season is on the line for the Celtics.
