It’s no secret that Golden State Warriors talisman Stephen Curry is a modern day great. The way he has changed the game with his long range shooting and his aura as a player has had a strong effect on the upcoming players. Warriors coach Steve Kerr recently compared his best player with his teammate Michael Jordan. Kerr feels that Curry has similar aura and impact as he believes Curry to be right up there in greatest of all time debates.
While Warriors fans agreed with their coach in agreement there were some disagreement aswell among pundits and fans. After the game against the Washington Wizards Kerr said that Curry has a modern day impact just like Jordan. Steve Kerr knows Curry out and out and he was also teammates with Michael Jordan during his Chicago Bulls days, so he knows what he is saying.
Recently NBA Analyst, Jalen Rose doubled down on Steve Kerr’s comments comparing Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan. He also agreed how Stephen Curry has that Jordan aura of being the man of the people as heis always signing autographs and clicking photos after games.
“I’m not mad at it. And the reason that he’s making this comparison is basically because Steph is box office, lives up to the hype and he’s a champion. And he’s a man of the people. Shaking hands, kissing babies, signing autographs, he understands what comes with being on the marquee. Not only to just be dominant, but to be a showstopper,” Rose said.
Rose did share how Jordan brought the crowd with his antics and his game similarly Steph also has that personality even though it is a little different the impact is definitely comparable. “The way MJ did it, with his flair and his tongue wagging and playing above the rim. Steph is able to do it with his effortless, seeming, pop a shot jump shots,” Rose added.
The Warriors defeated the Washington WIzards courtesy of their talisman’s sensational performance of 41 points as he led his team to a 127-118 win. The Warriors now have a 22-22 record in the West and are in seventh position. It was great to see Curry return with such a statement performance after missing 11 straight games.
It was a sensational to see a player who has missed so muchof action to come and simply blow up and drop a 41-point performance is sometimes ridiculous how Curry manages to do it every time. It will be interesting to see how the Warriors continue with Curry back in the mix this season.
