It has been a topsy turvy ride for the Milwaukee Bucks this season especially in the last ten games. While they started the season with a bang by winning five games but then their season has had a downward curve.
The Bucks have missed their experienced guard in Jrue Holiday and that has turned out to be a factor for their ongoing slump in form. During this poor run of form, they lost consecutive five games and looked completely out of ideas on the court. However, they managed to put an end to their dreadful run by winning against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But the poor run of form that the Bucks went through raised a lot of questions. People are thinking about whether the Bucks will be even contending in the East or not.
During the offseason the Bucks were very busy making changes in order to convince their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay with them. While the Greek Freak decided to stay with the Bucks but the team has seen a clear dip in form from last season.
Speaking about their situation NBA analyst Stephen A Smith gave his points of reasoning. He said, “You still have Jrue Holiday, you got Giannis [Antetokounmpo], you got Khris Middleton and the rest of the crew. And you have lost five straight [games] and you are in the middle of the pack. … I think Mike Budenholzer, the coach, could be in trouble.
“At some point in time, here’s the reality of the situation, Mike Budenholzer, coach of the year in Atlanta, coach of the year in Milwaukee. I think he is an exceptional coach, personally, he clearly knows what he is doing but in the end come postseason time, what do you have to show for it?”
Stephen A Smith’s concern is that if the Bucks continue their ongoing struggle then their coach Mike Budenholzer may get sacked. In the last few years the Bucks have not managed to perform big in the playoffs and if things remain the same then the 51-year old might have to part ways with the Bucks.
It now remains to be seen how the Bucks fare in their upcoming matches and where they finish at the end of the season.
